Sacramento’s First Social Equity Cannabis Dispensary Opens Its Doors

Nearly two years into Sacramento’s Cannabis Opportunity Reinvestment and Equity (CORE) program, the city has finally welcomed its first dispensary operated by a CORE licensee.

Embarc opened this month in South Sacramento. It’s located at 6233 Mack Rd.

“For far too long, inequitable enforcement of drug policies has marginalized and disenfranchised low-income communities and people of color,” the website states. “We recognize that it is a privilege to operate a business in this industry and are committed to continuously seeking ways to recognize and address the impacts the failed war on drugs has had on our communities. We partner with community organizations and leaders that seek to bridge a failed past with a better and more equitable future.”
