R.E. Graswich

R.E. Graswich, an award-winning Northern California journalist, broadcaster and consultant with four decades of experience in print, TV and radio, is principal writer and editor for CalMarijuanaPolicy.org. Graswich serves as a consultant for a diverse portfolio of clients, including the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education — the nation’s oldest and most respected organization dedicated to creating diversity in American newsrooms. Graswich writes for numerous publications on subjects ranging from politics to sports and travel, and often appears on TV and radio in California to provide expert analysis on state and local political and policy issues. He was a columnist and reporter with the Sacramento Bee for more than three decades, and served as the first video columnist in the history of CBS 13 in Sacramento. He was afternoon drive news anchor on KFBK radio in Sacramento, and was named Special Assistant to Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson for Johnson’s first term in office, where Graswich headed the mayor’s office relations with media, law enforcement, labor and governmental partners. Graswich is author of the book, "Vagrant Kings: David Stern, Kevin Johnson and the NBA's Orphan Team,” published in 2013.
